Week 1: Of Exploration and Adaptation

The first 3 days of our trip was a simple word: chaotic. But we pushed through it and here we are!

This is us at a restaurant that sells Moose meat (aka Deer meat) that we had to
make reservations for because it was popular!

I was attached to Rödabergsskolan which is translated as Red Mountain School in English, under Mr Daniel, who has been teaching in the school for 20 years! He is an absolutely experienced teacher and his dedication really amazes me. Of course, the difference in school system was slight but it does take time to adapt to it. (Un)fortunately, I was unable to teach/witness any teaching under Mr Daniel because he was busy with national exams for the Year 9s (aka Secondary 3 in Singapore schools), but I had the privilege to supervise 1 full class of 30 children to do percentage on my own for 2 hours! It was the first time doing such supervision in my entire life, and I really could not be more glad for the experience.

Thankfully, it was Ascension Day in Sweden on Thursday and we had the chance to go on various touristy sites to explore Stockholm while we can! :)

All in all, the 1st week was truly filled with exploration and adaption to the new environment. Here's to hoping week 2 would be a better, more fulfilling and more enriching one! :)
